I have been oddly fascinated by the French Revolution lately. My Friend Ismail, sent me a copy of The Oxford History of the French Revolution by William Doyle, which sparked my interest, which I supplemented with Revolutions by Mike Duncan. At the same time, I have been interested in Network Theory for a while. Finally, I read Edward Tufte’s The Visual Display of Quantitative information, while working on the entropy paper. The relation between these three things is probably unclear.

This paper explores whether momentum exists in professional basketball through a novel entropy-based statistical analysis. Based on the 2019–20 NBA season play-by-play dataset, we apply a clumpiness measure to scoring sequences and simulate expected distributions under different assumptions.
